Born in Bremen (Germany), I was raised in Spain’s Canary Islands, attended a British School then headed to the Caribbean via the UK, but Berlin was where I finally found my perfect, truly international home. Since finishing my studies, I’ve found Berlin to be the ideal location for staying connected to the world and for building global networks - from the US to Asia. In my heart I’m still an islander and love to be close to the water, while as a passionate paraglider I also love to reach for the skies!
Analytically-minded, I also enjoy shouldering responsibility and taking a risk. Having gained my degree in business informatics and business administration, I worked as a freelance consultant and interim manager. With my experience as an asset manager, fund specialist and commercial relocation expert at Supervisory Board, management and SME levels, today as section member of the Certified Supervisory Board Deutsche Börse AG at AdAR e.V., a university council member, and the founder and managing director of HvP connect GmbH, I’m convinced four things are essential in business: innovations, sustainability and people.
I have one goal: fair pay for everyone. Equal pay concerns everyone, women as men, politics as economy: it is an economic and political issue. To support companies and organizations by showing them ways of contributing to close the gender pay gap, I recently founded the Fair Pay Innovation Lab.
As a speaker at conferences and seminars, a guest on radio and TV talk shows, and a commentator on socio-political developments, my preferred topics are gender issues and money. My position is clear and underpinned by many strong arguments – to attract support in order to get campaigns on the road and to initiate change. I also enjoy debating, particularly on issues such as gender quotas, Equal Pay and Fair Pay.
Why shouldn’t women discuss and demand fair pay? I believe they must. That’s why I was President of Business and Professional Women (BPW) Germany (2010-2016), focused on Equal Pay and worldwide networking. I also founded and ran a women’s investment club (2000-2010). In addition, I’m a member of the “Women on Boards” FidAR Initiative. My socio-political commitment is currently targeting one goal: fair pay for all.
Women and Money must go hand-in-hand. It's so sad that this statement still meets with indifference among many people. While I prefer to leave politics to others, that isn’t the case with the fight for this urgently-needed shift in awareness, so as President of Business and Professional Women Germany I campaigned actively for Equal Pay.
